PS3 or Xbox 360?

Please debate on one, im torn in the middle, state your opinions and defend ur system

I don't really think this is a good idea, some people could be friends, but have different opinions and bad things will happen, don't won't this forum to be filled with anger topics.

i perfer the xbox360 although i dont have either system the xbox has good graphix and etc and ill explain more later

if more of your friends have an xbox, get an xbox
if more of your friends have a ps3, get a ps3

live costs money
psn doesn't

i could go on for hours, im a fan of the ps3, if this becomes a fight to the death thread ill lock it but now its fine,i'll giv the simple version

graphics are superrior to ps3 on multiplatform titles
more ppl hav xbox cuz of media mind control (the media controls all, im serious)

way more hardware space (i think thats what its called, right?)

PS3 cons
less ppl hav ps3
system it self costs more (notice i said system ITSELF, if youre going to get things like internet and a headset then the xbox is actually more expensive IF the xbox is an elite OR depending on how many years you pay for live)

Personally I find that Xbox is better, only because I like the controller and if you were to play online it would be good speed.

PS3 has an alright controller but I just prefer Xbox better.
Sage your right if you were playing online but if your not an online gamer then it doesn't matter.

well controller preference is purely because you're more used to it, in usability there pretty much exactly the same, for the online thing , the majority of ps3 and 360 gamers are hardcore gamers and thus most likely use online, just so that you guys know if i see any flaw in information, information with missing context clues which could misconstrue reader views, or uneducated ideas in this thread i will instantly post to correct, add on, or educate XD i will not allow any misinformation in this thread

Many people play many RPGs on PS3 and Xbox
for instance all fallout series, as well PS3 and Xbox games sometimes give the option to play online and Me and bunch of the people at my school do not play online because it adds up to much on the internet bill if you exceed internet usage. If you were to play online though then you would most likely want to go for Xbox because that way your internet is hooked up to your console directly rather then with PS3 where it is online unless you would like a cord that connects from your internet source to your PS3.

As well with the controller thing...
I am a PS3 user and I can definitely distinguish that the PS3 controller's analog stick has way to much of a push back effect making all 1st person shooter games less accurate. The Xbox's controller has less of a push back effect which is good in my opinion but then again my point in this CAN be bias due to being a GameCube user, but I don't think I am being bias because I'm not just saying I like the feel.

i agree with the controller thing. i almost posted it earlier, but i didn't because i thought it was silly
but the ps3 controller isn't as comfy. it's kinda small and seems breakable, unlike manly xbox controllers ;D

i thought the ps3 had wireless internet
normal 360s need an ethernet to go online unless you buy the wireless adapter, but the xbox slim (new 360) is wireless

Yes PS3 is wireless internet but can be hooked up to an internet source I believe... at least I hope so >.>

You are dead wrong! PS3 has better online because of the cost and it has a wireless adapter built in, but ill give you a disadvantage, more lag on Ps3 than Xbox

the xbox slim also has the adapter built in.

I'm a gamecube user too, in fact its pretty much all i ever play XD, but im not actually sure what you mean by push back, are you referring to when you push it in when you sprint or its natural ability to go bak to the center, either way i dont notice it at all, and actually there is no difference in lag between 360 nand ps3, it depends on your internet connection, and pivotn00b i said MOST ppl not all, the majority of 360 and ps3 users use online

I still don't think that most people do use PS3 and Xbox for online, maybe Xbox because it used to be built mainly for online. There are so many games out there that are not online... its ridiculous, and why is that you may ask? My guess is because most people play non-online games more. Now this is just a guess and really no fact can say that most people play online because it wouldn't be fully accurate unless a humongous survey was taken.

And by push back I mean the "natural ability to go bak to the center" :)
I find it very frustrating because when there is to much pressure pushing back on the controller it makes things a lot more difficult. For instance, if you were holding a gun and you were going to snipe something with that gun, would you want a heavy gun pushing the weight down more or a lighter gun which has less resistance. I for one like to be accurate when doing things, and I find it easier to navigate with less pressure. The controllers don't matter much though, I can deal with the push back but I would PREFER less of it.

And Yes, internet connection does have a major factor with online, but again it depends on the situation. If your internet source is built into your console then you are the only one using it making it a lot faster. If you have a modem and you hook up your console to the modem (I think you can do that with PS3) then there is the factor that there are people pinging your modem and also using your modems internet which produces a lot of lag. Same with wireless. This would be the order of preferablitiy:

1.Internet Source installed into Console
2. Modem hooked up to Console
3. Wireless

i really dont realize the push back thing at all on the controller, the only thing i hate is if the game does that and not the controller, 1 example of this is time splitters, i luv time splitters but when you snipe it has a frikin deadzone which only motion controlled games should have, im sure there are a couple games on ps3 and 360 that have this problem

well timesplitters 2 i hav is on gamecube, dont get me wrong, its an amazing game, but that deadzone is annoying as poo, ive encountered it on every console though its pretty rare

that 1st con doesnt matter cuz 360 cant play a lot of xbox games either, my console has never frozen and even if it did thats better then how the 360 drills a ring around youre game disc if you have it in to long, ive never gotten a game stusk in it or heard of anyone gettinbg one stuck in it so why would i have to tip it over in the first place, it is a possiblity but unlikely and it would be just as likely for the popout disc compartment for the 360 to get stuck so your argument is pointless and finally there is no difference in hacking between the two, so in the end you are wrong plus the pop out compartment is outdated
PS kinect is only good for casual gaming, can you imagine how many mistakes you would make if you tried to play a 1st person shooter for example, if you wanna play the 360 version of wii sports then yeah kinect is better, but for any hardcore gamer the move is clearly better, anyway you bumped this so locked
